The Sakai LNG center is located in Sakai-Senboku coastal industrial zone in Osaka Prefecture, and is supplying the natural gas to the thermal power plant of Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. and the factory in the vicinity. Sakai LNG is planning to import 2.7 million tons of LNG per year from 4 places such as Qatar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia, receiving LNG 50 times per yer via tankers. The Senboku Natural Gas Power Plant consisted of 4 units state-of-the-art gas turbine combined cycle with each power output of about 277 MW has started commercial operation since April, 2009. It is expected to satisfy with diversifying customer needs for energy and propose the best overall energy system. The Bicycle Museum was opened in 1992 as the only museum in Japan devoted entirely to bicycles. It now becomes one of the popular attractions in Sakai, where 40% of the domestic bicycles are manufactured. The museum provides information on the bicycle in terms of sports, health and the environment. The valuable collection of classic bicycles was from all over the world, ranging from 200-year-old classic bicycles to the very latest models. This well-loved museum also gives visitors an introduction on the history of the bicycle development and the construction of components such as brakes and gears. |
